Developmental Basics (FNDL-1104-99)

This is the Darryl E Berry Jr’s Next Density Center Developmental Basics (FDNL-1104-99) self-study course, which is the prerequisite course for joining the more advanced DEBJ-NDC courses and research studies personally taught by Darryl E Berry Jr, such as the ecsomatics / out-of-body experience courses. (The exception is the A Course in Miracle study group, which has no prerequisite.)

Simply utilize the book Travel Far for descriptions of the exercises and course-specific chapters to read, and precisely follow the training plan shared on this page. Utilize a word processing program to keep your journal entries (utilize the journal template included on this page), and utilize the downloadable spreadsheet that also lists the duration of practices and is utilized to track your progress (also linked on this page).

Please let me know when you’re starting so I can be aware of you. And then, after you have completed all three weeks of practices, email your journals and spreadsheets to me at debj@darryleberryjr.com. This would allow me to ascertain your progress, and contribute to my ongoing research study – these entries will be assigned a DEBJ-NDC student ID number to replace personally identifiable information for inclusion in the research study. Ideally you would continue the Lesson 3 exercises while I review your efforts.

If there is more work to be done on this Developmental Basics course then I will email you clarification and coaching instructions. If you have successfully completed the Developmental Basics progression then I will invite you to apply to become a student in the Ecsomatics / DEBJ-NDC Traveler Program course and research study where I will train you in learning the out-of-body experience through ongoing daily (online forms) and weekly (class sessions) personal coaching.

Lesson One Exercises and Reading

Please start with Chapters 7 through 9 of Travel Far:

Then continue with reading Travel Far, or any metaphysical reading to keep your focus and intent up for 20 minutes each day.

Exercises this week, per the training chart:

  • Concentration / Second hand stare, 3 one-minute practices
  • Meditation / Basic 4-2 breathing – phase one only, which is only inhaling to the count of 4, holding to the 2, exhaling to the count of 4, and holding to the count of 2, for 10 minutes total.
  • Visualization / Visualize a shape and color, turn it or change the color with control.
  • Relaxation / Basic relaxation – just find tension (sitting or lying down) and release tension, relaxing as completely as possible. Can break into two 1/2 sessions.
  • Exercise & Stretching / whether light or hard exercises, exercising 30-minutes three times per week
  • Metaphysical Study – starting with Chapters 7 through 9 of Travel Far, then the rest of Travel Far or any metaphysical title/topic book

  • Concentration, 2 minutes x 2, Gently but determined focus. More on the minute change. See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Meditation, 15 minutes x 1, Phase one and two only – starting with the 4-2 from Lesson One, and then progressing to inhaling to the count of 4 and exhaling to the count of 4 (no holding). See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Visualization, 5 minutes x 1, One 5-minute stretch. Periodically, or more, try visualizing same way but with eyes open. Try for more solid visualization. Involve other senses to help. See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Relaxation, 30 minutes x 1, One 30-minute session, completing entire body three times (10 minutes each). If you tense only tense the first time. Tense to accentuate tension briefly, so you can relax. See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Awareness Tasks and Travels, 15 total minutes per day – any increments, Any tasks or traveling, fully focused and present in the moment. In any increments or one 15 minute effort. See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Energy Work / Energization, 10 minutes x 1, Any energy work type of exercises. You can see energy exercises in Chapter 8 of Travel Far for exercises more in line with future progression. Whatever type of energy work, for at least 10 minutes.
  • Hours of Sleep, 8 hours (480 minutes) (at once or in any segments), Work towards 8 hours of sleep if you do less. If you have difficulty falling asleep just continue to be patient and try to go to sleep, and count that time as sleep time.
  • Metaphysical Study, 20 minutes

  • Meditation, 20 x 1, All three phases, sitting asana – 4-2 and 4-4 and then sitting in stillness. See Travel Far Chapter 8.
  • Relaxation, 30 x 1, Pick 3 different lying down asanas. 10 minutes each asana. One thirty-minute practice. Even deeper relaxation.
  • Awareness Tasks and Travels, 15 x 2, Any tasks or traveling, fully focused and present in the moment. At least 15 minute effort.
  • Energy Work / Energization, 15 x 1, Any energy work type of exercises. You can see energy exercises in Chapter 8 of Travel Far for exercises more in line with future progression. Whatever type of energy work, for at least 15 minutes.
  • Mental Projection, 5 x 1, See the exercises in Chapter 8 of Travel Far and work with those for at least 5 minutes.
  • Exercise / Stretching, 30 x 3/week, Continue this, at least 30 minutes three days out of the week.
  • Hours of Sleep, 8 (480 minutes), Work towards 8 hours of sleep if you do less. If you have difficulty falling asleep just continue to be patient and try to go to sleep, and count that time as sleep time.
  • Metaphysical Study, 20 minutes daily, Please review Chapter 7 of Travel Far, to not be alarmed at any altered state phenomenon that occur during practices. Also please read Chapters 10 and 11 of Travel Far, and decide which path to OBE you’d prefer – state acquisition or lucid dreaming.
